What Happens at the LASIK Consultation?

Everyone is viewed as an individual at Davis Eye Center. We won’t give you a standard sales pitch – we know you have specific questions and concerns, and we want to make sure all of those questions are answered for you.

A consultation is the ONLY way to determine if LASIK will work for you. Because of this, we want to make sure you know what to expect during this consultation.

Step 1: Your Peace of Mind

Every LASIK patient has questions and concerns about the LASIK procedure before they decide to have it. We’d be very worried if you didn’t have any questions. Our first step in every consultation will be to explain the procedure to you, make sure you are familiar with everything during the process, and to make sure you have all of your questions answered accurately. Given the extremely high technological precision of LASIK, the primary variable is the patient’s confidence and comfort in having the procedure. Therefore, we take special care to ensure you fully understand what happens during the procedure and what LASIK can do for you.

Step 2: The Exam

This step begins by meeting one of our skilled technicians. We will do a brief screening that includes the following: a review of your medical history, a complete corneal mapping, and a test of your corneal thickness. Only when all of that has been completed can we determine if you are suited for LASIK.

Step 3 – Reviewing the Results

This is when you’ll find out if you’re a good candidate for LASIK. We will explain the test results and let you know if you’re a good candidate or if another procedure is more suitable. The entire purpose of the consultation is to determine IF you’re a good candidate. If you’d like to learn about our financing options and our Lifetime VIP Enhancement Program, we will be happy to explain them.

If you’d like to schedule your procedure right away, that’s fine with us, or you can go home and come to a decision later. We’ve done our job of verifying that you’re a candidate – now it’s up to you to decide if you will have the procedure.
