Dr. Thomas M. Shaheen is a native of Canton. He attended the University of Akron until 1984, at which time he received early acceptance to the Illinois College of Optometry. He received his Doctor of Optometry in 1988.  Dr. Shaheen was accorded the Kenneth Martin Award and was inducted into the Gold Key Society for leadership.
After graduation, Dr. Shaheen and Dr. Bischof entered private practice together in Cuyahoga Falls. They were recognized on multiple occasions in national optometric journals for their accomplishments in building their practice.

In 1997 the doctors moved their practice to the Davis Eye Center. They believed the concept of having all the eye care services at one site offers patients the greatest convenience and better continuity of care. The combined knowledge and skills of the doctors gives you the highest quality of care.

Dr. Thomas Shaheen strives to maintain a family atmosphere at the practice. He enjoys taking the time to help patients and continually update his skills and knowledge through continuing education programs. He specializes in helping hard-to-fit patients wear contact lenses, even when the patients have been told elsewhere that they cannot wear contacts.

Dr. Shaheen offers full eye health care and vision examinations including:

- complete disease evaluation and treatment   
- glaucoma evaluation and treatment   
- cataract testing  
- eye-muscle coordination evaluation   
- retinal photography  
- determination of eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions  
- Laser vision correction evaluations  

Dr. Shaheen resides in Northampton with his wife, Dawn, their sons Alec and Seth, and daughter Sydney.
