TRAINING: Dr. Charles H. Davis is one of the area's foremost Board Certified Ophthalmologists specializing in laser vision correction and cataract removal. He graduated Magna cum Laude from West Virginia University in 1978 and received his medical degree from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in 1982. He completed his medical internship and ophthalmology residency at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
LASIK EXPERIENCE: Dr. Davis has performed over 50,000 eye surgeries, including over 32,000 LASIK procedures. He completed his LASIK training under the direction of Dr. Jeff Machat in Windsor, Ontario, who is a pioneer in laser vision correction. This extensive experience and excellent training allows him to offer his patients superior results. Dr. Davis is also certified to perform the implantable contact lens procedure, an alternative to LASIK and PRK.
CATARACT EXPERIENCE: Dr. Davis opened his Cuyahoga Falls practice in 1987 and was the first surgeon in the area to perform no-stitch cataract surgery. Expanding his practice, he then opened The Center for Surgery and Davis Eye Center in 1997 where he was one of the first surgeons in Ohio to be certified to perform the accommodating intraocular lens and multifocal lens procedures.
MEMBERSHIPS: Dr. Davis is an associate clinical professor at Ohio University. He is Board Certified and a Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology. He is also a member of the International Society of Refractive Surgeons.
AWARDS: Dr. Davis is a recipient of the elite VISX Star Award, recognizing him as one of the top 10% refractive surgeons in the nation. He was also honored with a citation of recognition for outstanding service from Columbus and Stow.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Recognized as an authority by his peers, Dr. Davis has presented the results of his techniques at state and national conferences. Dr. Davis has mentored and taught his techniques to several surgeons.
PERSONAL: Aside from being a LASIK surgeon, he is a LASIK patient as well, having had the procedure performed in 1999. Dr. Davis resides in Stow with his wife and three children. He is very active in his community and his church.
